Microdermabrasion (MegaPeel)

Microdermabrasion, or MegaPeel®, is a non-chemical, non-invasive procedure that uses a spray of microcrystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells and reveal younger, healthier-looking skin. Microdermabrasion leaves your skin smooth and clean with a natural glow. Blackheads are loosened, whiteheads become unsurfaced, hyper pigmentation lightens, acne scars, enlarged pores and epidermal fine lines become less prominent. Blood, containing oxygen and nutrients, is drawn to the surface to feed and repair cells. Microdermabrasion encourages the production of a new underlying layer of skin cells with higher levels of collagen and elastin, which further improves your skin’s appearance.
Microdermabrasion was developed in Europe many years ago and has been an accepted skin treatment procedure in the United States for some time. During the procedure, aluminum oxide crystals are projected onto the skin in a safe and uniform manner to remove layers of the epidermis. These crystals, along with dead skin cells, are vacuumed into a closed filter container and discarded. A control gauge allows for increased vacuum for a more aggressive peel and decreased vacuum for a more gentle peel.
Other skin peeling agents or laser treatments must be careful with certain skin types. A series of Mega Peels can be offered to any skin type. Often called the "lunch time peel", results can be achieved with very little downtime. Side effects include redness lasting for about one hour. For best results, the process of microdermabrasion should be approached in a series of at least four peels for a lasting effect. Eyelash Enhancement/Latisse®
LATISSE® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker. LATISSE® makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost can also prolong this growth phase.
LATISSE® is FDA approved and effective. It's a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes. Patients in a clinical trial saw results in as few as 8 weeks with full results after 12 to 16 weeks.
LATISSE® is available by prescription only. The most common side effects after using LATISSE® solution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness.
